The Sindh government has put in place tight security to stop the influx of terrorists in the form of internally displaced persons (IDPs). Security officials have disclosed that a decision was taken Wednesday to seal all borders and employ scanners.

The on-going military operation against the terrorists in North Waziristan is forcing millions to flee and settle in different parts of the country. There is a fear of terrorists entering Karachi in the form of IDPs. Tight security is being maintained at all the entrance points to the city.

The government of Sindh has insisted that it will not allow IDPs to enter the province. On the other hand, police and rangers have intensified the operation against the banned terrorist outfits.

Sindh IG Ghulam Haider Jamali said that strategies have been devised to stop the entry of IDPs in the province of Sindh, adding that scanners are being installed on all the entrance points to the city.

In order to keep checks on those entering Sindh, security is in high alert on the provincial borders adjoining Kashmor. Registration is being carried out for people on the entry points in order to avoid a free passage to the terrorists.

Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah had earlier expressed his concern about the entrance of terrorists from North Waziristan in the Sindh province in the form of IDPs. He said that all illegal IDPs will be sent back and not be allowed to enter Sindh. He also said that the government has had a bitter experience of dealing with the IDPs in the past as militants broke into the city disguised as IDPs.
