- Lawyers announce to boycott all court proceedings against killing of Allama Jauhri’s son-in-law Kazmi

Syed Mubarak Raza Kazmi, the son-in-law of prominent Shia scholar Allama Talib Jauhari, was shot down by unidentified gunmen in Gulshan-e-Iqbal while five others were killed in separate incidents of violence in different areas of the city on Wednesday.
Kazmi, 52, a lawyer by profession, was killed when unidentified assailants opened fire on his car in Block 13, D-2, Gulshan-e-Iqbal, rescue sources said. The body was shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for medico-legal formalities.
The incident appeared to be sectarian, however, an investigation is being carried out in this regard, police sources said.
Meanwhile, the Sindh High Court Bar Association (SHCBA) and Karachi Bar Association (KBA) have announced to boycott the proceedings of Sindh High Court and lower courts throughout Sindh against the killing of Mubarak Raza Kazmi.
SHCBA President ZK Jatoi has strongly condemned the incident and urged provincial government and law enforcers to arrest the assailants. He asked the lawyers community to stay away from the court proceedings.
OTHER INCIDENTS:
Separately, a woman, Huma, 35, wife of Bilal, was killed and her husband, aged 45, and son, Hassan, 17, were injured when unidentified armed men opened fire on their car in Kareemabad.
The body and injured were shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH) for an autopsy and treatment respectively.
Moreover, two youths, Liaquat, 25, and Moeen, 25, were shot dead by unidentified assailants near Fancy Bakery, Liaqat Chowk, in Gulbahar area. The bodies were shifted to ASH for medico-legal formalities.
Separately, a youth, Mohammad Hussain, 25, son of Mohammad Younis, was shot dead by unidentified armed men in Phool Patti area, Lyari. The body was shifted to Civil Hospital Karachi for a post-mortem examination.
Furthermore on Wednesday, a man, Abdul Malik, 34, was killed and two others, Syed Muhammed Hussain Rizvi, 34, and Hafeezul Rehman, 30, were injured when unidentified armed men opened fire on them near Jahangirabad. The body and injured were shifted to ASH for an autopsy and treatment respectively.
Lastly, a youth, Atif, 24, son of Gulzar, was shot and injured by unidentified armed men in Bhains Colony. He was shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center (JPMC) for treatment.
