A ceremony was held at the Chinese Embassy in Islamabad Tuesday to honour middle school students and teachers who attended Beijing International Summer Camp in China.
The ceremony was hosted by Madam Bao Jiqing, wife of Chinese ambassador to Pakistan, and was attended by students and teachers who participated in the summer camp.
As many as 18 students from different schools of Islamabad attended the camp in China where 600 students from all over the world also participated in the event.
Addressing the gathering, Madam Bao Jiqing congratulated the students on their achievement and lauded the participants by terming them a part of Pakistan-China friendship history. She wished that seeds of Pak-China friendship are sown in the hearts of the new generation which will blossom when the students grow up.
A jubilant Madam Bao also announced an increase in number of Pakistani students going to attend the summer camp next year.
Flowers were presented to teachers Ayesha and Mehsoona Waqar of The City School for successfully leading the students in the Summer Camp. A Pakistani student Daniyal Kamal represented all 600 students from all over the world and delivered the opening speech at the camp in China.
The event was attended by parents of the students and other dignitaries of the federal capital and Cultural Office staff of Chinese Embassy. A dance performance by the students was also part of the event.
