National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has approved curtailment of power tariff by eight paisas per unit under fuel adjustment surcharge.
The petition from Central Power Purchasing Agency (CPPA) seeking reduction in the tariff of electricity came up for hearing before NEPRA Wednesday. NEPRA accorded approval to scale down power tariff after hearing the petition.
The decision will stand applied to all power distribution companies barring Karachi Electricity Supply Company. NEPRA has also taken notice of growing load shedding in the country despite rise in the power production saying as to why load shedding has increased despite rise in electricity production.
