Use of social media website Facebook has been banned in Pir Mehr Ali Shah Arid University Rawalpindi campus on the complaints of woman students.
The students were allowed to use Facebook through university internet connection. However, this facility was shut down in the face of girls complaining that their personal pictures were being misused.
Varsity’s Computer Network Additional Director Nadim Malik said that the vice chancellor of the university has spent Rs 10 million on the internet facility for research oriented activities rather than wasting time on social media.
