A criminal was killed and his two accomplices sustained injuries in an exchange of fire with police on Thursday.
Faiz Gunj Police said that the encounter took place at Ghulam Shah Road near Karoondi area of Khairpur where police traded fire with three criminals. In crossfire, a notorious criminal identified as Abdul Sattar hailing from district Multan was killed whereas his two accomplices, Muhammad Akber and Muhammad Altaf, were arrested in injured condition along with weapons. The injured were shifted to Nawab Shah Hospital in critical condition.
Meanwhile, relatives of the deceased and injured strongly protested and rejected the encounter. They alleged that the deceased and the injured were arrested three days ago by police along with a women and child who were still missing after they were kidnapped from Sehwan Sharif to Multan. They said police killed one and injured two persons in a fake encounter.
They appealed to the Supreme Court to take sue motu in this regard and provide justice to them.
