Azadi Train to start from Peshawar on Aug 11

Highlighting history and culture of the country, Azadi Train will start its journey from Peshawar on August 11. This was decided at a meeting chaired by Minister for Railways Saad Rafique in Islamabad.

The meeting was informed that the train will make its first stop at Golra Station in Islamabad after passing through Nowshera. It will stay at the Golra Station for two days and then start journey for Karachi via Rohri and Quetta.

The Ministry of Culture and National Heritage has prepared floats highlighting different periods of history, Pakistan Movement and war against terrorism.

Two compartments will be allocated to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) to highlight Freedom Movement and sacrifices of the armed forces.

One compartment will be allocated to Pakistan Railways that will be used to highlight Pakistan history.

The train will consist of six floats representing culture of all the four provinces, Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Kashmir.
