The Islamabad High Court (IHC) Tuesday nullified Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s decision on bureaucratic promotions.
The proceedings of the case filed by Central Selection Committee comprising 18 employees were held at IHC chaired by IHC Chief Justice Anwar Kasi.
Lawyer Asma Jahangir represented the employees who had filed the case in court against premier’s orders for elevating certain officials in the bureaucracy.
Justice Kasi observed that the Constitution and rule of law was above any person or position. He declared PM’s orders of promotions in the bureaucracy null and void.
