‘Unidentified men’ claim four more lives in city

Four people, including three cops, were killed and three others were injured in different incidents of violence in the city on Monday.

Two policemen, Niaz Ahmed, 47, son of Pehalwan, and Habib Durani, 45, son of Azizur Rehman, were shot dead by unidentified culprits in Quaidabad. Their bodies were shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) for medico-legal formalities.

Moreover, unidentified armed men killed Sub Inspector Muhammad Rafiq, son of Sardar Baloch, late on Sunday night near Shah Bhattia Hall in Lyari while he was returning from his duty. The body was shifted to Civil Hospital for an autopsy.

Separately, Qutubuddin, 55, son of Bilgiram Khan, was shot dead and two others, Nawab, 40, and Kareem, 38, were injured when unidentified gunmen opened fire on them at Islamia Colony No-1 in Qasba Colony. They were shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.

Separately, Saleem, 55, son of Fateh Muhammad, was shot and injured by unidentified culprits in Malir near Mubhat Nagar. He was rushed to JPMC for treatment.
