- SC orders army man to keep his wife in a separate house, pay haq mehar in instalments

Supreme Court (SC) Monday ordered an army official Faisal Mehmood to keep his wife in a separate house besides paying the cost of house given in haq mehr in instalments.
As a two-memebr bench of SC headed by Justice Ejaz Afzal took up the case for hearing Monday, the judge remarked, “It is better if domestic disputes are settled within the homes. Both the wife and husband should demonstrate broadmindedness.”
Counsel for Zahida’s husband told the court that he was ready to pay cost of 7 tola gold mentioned in haq mehr but the house was in the name of his father and he can pay the cost of new house in instalments.
The court inquired from the lady if she wanted to live with her husband. The lady said she was ready to live with her husband but will not live with his parents. The court ordered the husband to take his wife along with him and payment of other matters be solved in instalments.
