Sethi announces resignation, won’t contest PCB polls

LAHORE-

Najam Sethi, Chairman of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), in his statement in the Supreme Court on Monday said that he will be resigning from his post and will not contest the elections of the board, a private channel reported.

Two-member bench of apex court including Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali and Justice Mian Saqib Nisar was hearing the case.

Najam added that he would not contest the polls as Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has made him a member of Board of Management Committee.

The case was related to the appointment of PCB chairman at Lahore registry. The polls will be conducted next month.

Najam Sethi was restored as the PCB chairman by the court earlier this month.
