At the United Nations, Pakistan has called for stepping up efforts to overcome conflicts and crises affecting Africa.
Participating in a debate on investment in Africa at the UN General Assembly in New York, Pakistan’s permanent representative stressed the need for fulfilling the promises made with 54-nation continent for development assistance.
Masood Khan said Pakistan has consistently backed the political and economic aspirations of Africa, noting that Islamabad was a proud contributor to United Nations Peacekeeping Missions in the continent.
The ambassador said Pakistan’s trade and investment in Africa was increasing and Pakistan’s skilled manpower was helping African development. He said Pakistan would continue this mutually beneficial partnership and hope to play an important role in realizing the African dream.
