The government has announced four-day holidays for the government employees starting from July 29 (Tuesday) till August 1 (Friday) however the officials would enjoy two weekly offs of Saturday and Sunday along with the four Eid holidays.
Many of the employees have planned long visits to their native towns along with their families and they would move one day earlier from the beginning of holidays to avoid rush at different bus stops.
While some others are applying for a leave on July 28 (Monday) so that the weekly offs of July 26 and 27 can be opted along with the other holidays to spend nine days with their relatives.
Shagufta Shahid, a government school teacher, said, “I along with my family have applied for one holiday of Monday so that I could spend more time in Sindh with my in laws on Eid.”
“We could not visit our relatives in Sindh normally as it is not possible to go to a far flung place during weekends or few holidays. This year, Eid has given us a good opportunity to spend maximum time with our relatives,” she said.
Murad Khan, another government employee said, “I would visit my family in Swat on this Eid, taking advantage of long holidays as last year I could not move to my native place.”

Another government employee said, “The only excitement of Eidul Fitr for me is to see my parents in Dera Ismail Khan and spend more time with them during the Eid holidays.”
He said, “I could not visit them for a long time due to my tough job schedule and limited casual leave and now I am excited to stay for more days in my home town.”
