At least one Pakistani civilian was killed and three others were injured during an exchange of fire between Pakistani and Indian border security forces near Silakot’s Charwah and Mirajkey sectors on Sunday.

Pakistan Rangers said that Indian soldiers opened unprovoked fire early Sunday morning in Sialkot’s Mirajkey and Charwah sectors, killing one man and wounding two women and a child. Rescue teams have shifted the injured to the Combined Military Hospital in Sialkot.

Locals reported that the Indian shelling and firing had also killed a number of livestock.

Attacks along the border are an ongoing issue between India and Pakistan.

Only recently on July 16, two Pakistani soldiers were wounded in an exchange of fire between Indian and Pakistani forces in Charwah sector near Sialkot.
