Cellular service to be blocked along Yaum-e-Ali procession route

Mobile service will remain suspended in and around areas of the procession route of Yaum-e-Ali (RA) while pillion riding will also be banned.

Capital City Police Officer Zulfiqar Hameed told Pakistan Today that 5,000 policemen would be deployed to provide foolproof security to mourners in the city. He added that five points had been set up for entry in the procession where every person will be checked thoroughly.

EIGHT PUNJAB DISTRICTS DECLARED SENSITIVE:

Meanwhile, intelligence agencies have declared eight districts of Punjab sensitive on the occasion of Yaum-e-Ali (RA).

The districts include Gujranwala, Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, Sargodha, Multan, Sahiwal, DG Khan and Bahawalpur.

The Punjab chief secretary has established a control room in the provincial capital under the supervision of the additional secretary home in order to closely monitor the movement of the processions to avoid any untoward incident.

The chief secretary has also advised all secretaries including the controller administration to stay alert at the time of processions.
