Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) backed MPA Rana Shoaib Idrees on Saturday attacked Khurianwala Police Station with 50 armed men and took away Rana Zulfiqar Bhutto and his three accomplices charged in a murder case.

Earlier, SHO Riasat had raided Bhutto’s compound in search of Iqbal and his other accomplices who had been running from the law. Iqbal and others managed to escape the raid but Bhutto and three others had been nabbed.

On Saturday, MPA Idrees managed to free the four from the police station after subjecting the police to torture.

The CPO, Jaranwala SP Arif Shahbaz and other high-ups reached the scene and informed the Chief Minister’s Secretariat about this incident.

Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif ordered an enquiry into the incident besides taking action against the MPA involved. The inquiry committee, under SSP Operations Bilal Omer and Jaranwala SP Arif Shahbaz, will probe the incident while the police have also registered a case against the MPA.

  1. What’s new in that? Pakistan being ruled by criminals since the death of our Quaid. Sad but true.
