Federal Minister for Information, Broadcasting and National Heritage Pervez Rashid has said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan, Awami Muslim League (AML) chief Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed and Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) chief Tahirul Qadri had resorted to “cheap tactics” in a bid to topple the government and save their political future because Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N)’s one-year performance and ongoing developmental works had “scared” them.
In an interview with a private TV channel, the information minister said that Imran, Rasheed and Qadri were creating hurdles in the way of development as they were afraid that PML-N will continue to rule in future as well by virtue of their performance and they would not get a chance to form the government.
Terming Khan’s agenda “anti-Pakistan”, the minister vowed that PML-N government would complete its five-year term and fulfil promises made with the people.
VOTE RECOUNTING:
Commenting on rigging allegations by PTI, the information minister said that recounting of votes in PTI-proposed four constituencies was the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP)’s job and the government could not interfere in this matter.
Rashid further said that according to the Constitution, one had to approach the ECP in case of any objection which was redressed after the formation of an election tribunal. The decision of votes’ recounting would also be made by the election tribunal, he added.
