ISLAMABAD-
The leadership of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) is considering to change the venue of its ‘Azadi March’ on 14th August in Islamabad in wake of the goverment’s plan to thwart the rally, a private news channel reported on Thursday.
The government has announced a 15-day independence celebration plan in the capital which includes a ceremony outside the Parliament house to be attended by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and all three services chiefs.
A military parade on the Independence Day is also expected to take place.
The announcement has led PTI leaders to advise chief Imran Khan to consider a change in the venue of the rally, previously announced to be red zone area of D-chowk.
According to reports, Khan has asked for suggestions for the new venue for PTI stalwarts.
It was earlier reported that PTI has prepared a contingency plan in case the federal government detains Imran Khan and other leaders ahead of the Azadi March.
