Better Norwegian ties is what Mamnoon wants

President Mamnoon Hussain has said that Pakistan attached great importance to its bilateral relations with Norway based on mutual trust and goodwill and desired to further strengthen them for mutual benefit of the people of the two countries.

While talking to Ambassador of the Kingdom of Norway in Pakistan Cecilie Landsverk, who paid a farewell call on him at the Aiwan-e-Sadr on Wednesday, the president appreciated Norway’s long-term partnership with Pakistan in economic, trade and commercial relations.

The president said that both countries have extended support to each other at various international forums, adding that Pakistan was looking forward to continued cooperation in various spheres.

About Pakistani community in Norway, the president observed that presence of large Pakistani diaspora of over 40,000 people in Norway acted as a living bridge for promoting people to people contacts between the two countries.

The president appreciated Landsverk‘s diplomatic services in bringing Pakistan and Norway further closer during her over  three years stay as ambassador in Pakistan. The president wished the outgoing ambassador good health and success in her future career.
