The ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) held a meeting on Tuesday with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in the chair. The meeting reviewed the progress of the ongoing military operation Zarb-e-Azb in North Waziristan, relief efforts for internally displaced persons (IDPs) and the preparations for Independence Day celebrations.
Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Sardar Mehtab Ahmad Khan, Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, Minister for Planning Ahsan Iqbal and Minister for States and Frontier Regions (SAFRON) Abdul Qadir Baloch also attended the meeting.
The participants resolved that the war against terror is a war for the country survival and lauded the armed forces for their success in Operation Zarb-e-Azb.
The PM complimented SAFRON Minister Baloch for arrangements made for the IDPs. He said the government would provide all possible resources to look after and rehabilitate the IDPs of North Waziristan.
The PM said that August 14 marks progress and prosperity of the country and should be celebrated in a befitting manner.
