Federal ministers lash out at PTI chief

Federal ministers and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leaders lashed out on Tuesday against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan’s statements, saying that the PTI chief must give up threatening the government and judiciary.

Speaking to a TV channel, Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Pervaiz Rasheed said that Khan cannot stop the government’s ‘peace and progress march’. Rashid said that “every decision and step” taken by Khan is against national unity, adding that Khan does not accept the Election Commission of Pakistan and the election tribunals.

Federal Minister for Railways Khawaja Saad Rafique said that the PTI chief wants to derail democracy by terming the elections “disputed”.

The minister said that Khan is helping the enemies of the country and democracy “by spreading anarchy”.

Federal Minister for Defence Khawaja Asif said that Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif went to Bannu to visit the affectees of North Waziristan and will continue to do so. He said no one can stop the government from helping the internally displaced persons.

The defence minister said that Khan did not visit Awaran when it was hit by an earthquake nor did Khan visit the victims of Tharparkar famine and the dengue epidemic.
