LHC seeks written objections from govt over expenditure of PM house

The Lahore High Court (LHC) has sought objection in writing from the federal government over maintainability of the petition filed against purchase of expensive vehicles and sniffer dogs for the Prime Minister (PM)house.

Justice Khalid Mehmood Khan of the LHC took up the case for hearing on Monday.

The petitioner told the court that sniffer dogs and luxury vehicles worth million of rupees were purchased and huge sums of cash were spent on the construction of the PM House which is illegal and against the Sharaih. He prayed the court to nullify purchases of vehicles and sniffer dogs.

The counsel for the federal government told the court that petition is not maintainable therefore it be rejected.

The court maintained that it was right of any citizen to obtain information about the expenses incurred on the PM house.

The court directed federal government to file its objections in writing on the maintainability of this petition

The hearing of the case was adjourned for two weeks.
