Pakistan declares Dilip Kumar’s house a National Heritage

Ancestral house of legendary Bollywood actor Dilip Kumar in Peshawar’s Qissa Khawani Bazaar has been announced to be a national heritage of Pakistan by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.

Manzoor Ali Memon, spokesperson of Pakistan High Commission in New Delhi, told a reporter of private channel over the phone.

He further added that this house would be turned into a museum which would portray the life of Dilip Kumar from Peshawar to Mumbai and an art gallery would also be dedicated to the actor. Pakistani government also plans to invite Dilip Kumar himself for the inauguration ceremony.

Meetings have already taken place between actor and Pakistan’s High Commissioner to India, Abdul Basit in the first week of June.

Abdul Basit said “The PM’s decision is testimony to the enormous importance Pakistan attaches to promoting art and culture and paying tribute to living legends like Dilip Kumar, whose contributions to the sub-continent cinema are unparalleled,”.

Dilip Kumar was born on Dec 11, 1922, in a Pashtun family and has 12 siblings. He always has been the protagonist of love, peace and humanity throughout his life.

The legendary actor has won millions of hearts through his acting and personality.
