Islamabad High Court (IHC) has issued notice to Islamabad inspector general of police (IGP), Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) Superintendent Police (SP) Jamil Hashmi and CIA Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) Rana Mursalin for not investigating a theft case on merit.
A single bench of IHC comprising Justice Noorul Haq N Qureshi took up Zulfiqar versus Islamabad IGP case for hearing Monday.
Zarin Kanwal counsel for the petitioner told the court that the accused Shamim and Rauf committed robbery in broad day light at gun point in the house of Zulfiqar Ali on July 9, 2013 at G-9/2 block. The accused stole three tolas of gold, 60 tolas of silver, three mobile phones and Rs 95,000 in cash and fled from the scene.
The incident of theft was reported in Margalla Police Station and the accused were identified therein, the counsel said. The bail pleas of the accused were rejected in civil court. Later, IHC summoned complete report of this case from Islamabad SSP on January 22, 2014 and issued orders police should recover all the stolen goods. However, any report to this effect has not been presented in this court so far, she said.
She told the court that the petitioner presented application to Islamabad IGP that his case be got investigated by CIA as its investigation is not being made on merit in Margalla Police Station. CIA ASI Mursalin was nominated for investigation but he is also weakening the case through dilatory tactics.
The hearing of the case was adjourned indefinitely.
