Islamabad High Court (IHC) has issued orders for up-gradation of post of superintendent in Peshawar Customs Department from BPS-16 to BPS-17.

A single bench of IHC comprising Justice Noorul Haq N Qureshi took up for hearing Atta Muhammad Mehsud versus Establishment Division secretary case Monday.

Muhammad Shabir Bhutta counsel for the petitioner appeared in the court. The court issued its decision in respect of the case of up-gradation of superintendent of Peshawar Customs Department from BPS-16 to BPS-17 in writing which was earlier reserved.

The court ruled that the way the scales of other departments have been upgraded, the scale of superintendent be also upgraded.

Shabir Bhutta, counsel for the petitioner took the plea in previous hearing of the case that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has issued orders for up gradation of all clerical staff and notification in this regard has been issued. On the other hand no orders are being issued for up gradation of superintendent post. No steps are being taken by Federal Board of Revenue and CBR for up gradation of superintendent customs post. The court had reserved the judgment after hearing the arguments.
