Unidentified terrorists set ablaze three vehicles of the Frontier Works Organisation (FWO) in the Shagaye area of Khyber Agency late on Friday night.
Sources said that the vehicles set alight were meant for a road construction project in the agency, adding that two vehicles were completely destroyed while one was partially damaged.
Meanwhile, terrorists distributed pamphlets in parts of Khyber Agency warning government officials, Khasadar Force and other security personnel to give up their jobs or face the risk of being targeted.
According to the locals, the pamphlets were distributed by Jaish-e-Khurasan terror outfit.
Earlier this week, a FWO employee was injured when an FWO vehicle came under fire in Quetta’s Washuk area.
Police said that unidentified gunmen on a motorbike attacked the FWO vehicle. “As a result, a FWO employee received bullet injuries,” the police said, adding that the assailants fled the scene after the incident.
The terror organisation is reportedly operating in Khyber, Mohmand and Bajaur agencies.
Meanwhile, Matani police have arrested more than 62 suspects during a search operation in Peshawar and recovered a huge cache of arms and ammunition.
According to the police, some of the suspects include hardened criminals.
