Rangers have decided to launch a decisive operation to track down most-wanted criminals in Karachi plagued for years by sectarian, ethnic and political violence.

Sources said the decision was taken at a high-level meeting at Rangers Headquarters where officials finalised strategy for the anti-criminal action that started in the metropolis in September last year.

Sindh Rangers Director General Major General Rizwan Akhtar presided over the meeting. According to sources, Rangers have also devised a strategy to contain terrorists’ possible reaction in Karachi against military’s Zarb-e-Azb operation which is underway in North Waziristan since June 15.
