Punjab Chief Minister Mian Shahbaz Sharif has accorded approval to set up separate fruit and vegetable market for Rawalpindi.

This market will be completed within five to eight months in collaboration with Agriculture Department. The district management Rawalpindi will acquire land in Rawat for this purpose.

The Punjab chief minister’s approval for fruit and vegetable market has sent a wave of jubilation among the traders doing business in fruit and vegetables and they have welcomed this announcement by the government.

The Punjab chief minister gave this approval during his recent visit to Rawalpindi. DCO Sajid Zafar told the chief minister that Rawalpindi has no vegetable and fruit market of its own therefore, the district administration has to face difficulties in fixing the prices of vegetables and fruit.
