ISLAMABAD-
Najam Sethi was restored as Chairman Pakistan Cricket Board on Friday as the Supreme Court suspended the notification dissolving the Management Committee of PCB and forming a new body to hold elections, a private news channel reported.
The two-member bench, comprising of Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali and Justice Mian Saqib, questioned the legality of the notice during a hearing of the case regarding the restoration of Zaka Ashraf as PCB head.
The matter is sub-judice and such a notification equals challenging the authority of court, ruled the bench.
The case has been adjourned till July 21.
On Thursday, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had dissolved the Management Committee and appointed Justice (r) Jamshed Ali Shah as the PCB’s interim chief.
PCB should elect a sincere person who knows cricket very well as chairman. Please we do not want this corrupt 36 puncture wala anymore.
