*Bar asks govt to raise Israeli terrorism at world forums
Lahore High Court Bar Association (LHCBA) President Shafqat Mehmood Chohan has demanded the government to raise the issue of Israeli terrorism on Palestinian citizens at international forums.
Addressing a press conference along other bar office-bearers on Friday, he said that Israeli terrorism on innocent Palestinians could not be tolerated. He said that the government should raise the issue at international forums and also practically help Palestinian brothers.
He said that thumb impressions of lawyers would be obtained and the bio-metric system would be made functional in LHCBA by mid-September. He said that few bar employees with help of machines would register 21,000 lawyers within one month and a half.
Shafqat said that no lawyer would be registered without his original identity card to ensure the success of the system.
He said that if the Election Commission and political parties introduced the biometric system in general elections, it would ensure elimination of rigging.
POLITICAL PARTIES PROTEST AGAINST ISRAEL:
Pakistan Sunni Tehrik (ST) on Friday held a protest day against atrocities of Israel on innocent Palestinians.
Resolutions were passed to condemn the atrocities of Israel during Friday congregations.
The peaceful protests were held in outside mosques of different cities, including Lahore, Gujranwala, Faisalabad, Multan and others.
A large number of ST activists participated in the protest and they were carrying banners and placards cards inscribed with different slogans against Israel.
ST chief Muhammad Ijaz Sarwat demanded the international community to take notice of Israel attack on Gaza.
Meanwhile, Majlis Wahdat Muslimeen (MWM) also staged a protest against terrorism and atrocities of Israel on innocent Palestinians.
The MWM took out a rally in Shabab Chowk Samanabad after Friday prayers and raised slogans against Israel.
MWM leader Allama Imtiaz Kazmi urged the Muslims of the world to get united against Israel.
