Unidentified gunmen have killed Majlis-Wahdat Muslimeen (MWM) activist Asif Karbalai in Karachi.
After the sectarian murder, enraged mob staged a sit-in at MA Jinnah Road and Numaish Chorangi. According to Paraidi Police, MWM’s Asif Karbalai was going home in wee hours before Seher time when unknown assailants opened fire on his car near Empress Market, Saddar. Police has registered an FIR against unknown killers and have started investigation into the murder.
Asif Karbalai had escaped murder attempt in near past. The bereaved family and MWM workers staged sit-in, put tyres on fire and blocked the road. The traffic police diverted route for traffic at Guru Mandir which was the centre of MWM demonstration.
