Arsalan wants religious scholars to judge Khan’s ‘sadaaqat and amaanat’

Former chief justice of Pakistan (CJP) Iftikhar Chaudhry’s son Arsalan Iftikhar Thursday pledged to approach religious scholars against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan to “examine his sadaaqat and amaanat (honesty and trustworthiness)” under articles 62 and 63 of the Constitution, demanding that the committee comprising Justice (r) Wajihuddin Ahmed should hand down a judgment against him.

According to reports, Arsalan will contact Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Assembly member Maulana Sirajul Haq and Maulana Shirani of the Islamic Ideology Council (IIC) to bring to the fore the issue of Khan’s alleged love child, Tyrian White.

The religious scholars will decide if Khan can be a member of parliament, private TV channels quoted Arsalan as saying.

Khan has always maintained silence on questions about his alleged love child and the 1997 US court judgement. In his several interviews, he has denied commenting on his personal life.

However, the media in 2004, reported that after the sudden death of Sita White, Tyrian’s mother, Khan was ready to look after his alleged daughter and these reports in turn were not refuted by Khan. Though the case of Tyrian is now a thing of the past for the politicians, it is the only ploy for Arsalan Iftikhar against Khan. He has started gathering documents against Khan, including a few affidavits.

Earlier, Arsalan had filed an application at Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to obtain more information on Khan. Arsalan submitted that the attested copies of references against Khan submitted by Dr Farooq Sattar and Dr Sher Afghan Niazi, Khan’s written statement and relevant documents be provided to him.
