Islamabad High Court (IHC) has rejected suspended police officers plea for their reinstatement in Sikh demonstrator’s entry into Parliament case.

The judicial enquiry report of the incident was also filed in the court.

A single bench of IHC presided over by Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui took up for hearing suspended police officer Habib Ullah Niazi case Wednesday.

Tariq Mehmood Jahangri counsel for the petitioner and Fazlur Rehman Niazi counsel for federation appeared in the court.

Judicial enquiry report in respect of two suspended police officers including SP Habib Ullah Niazi and DSP Muhammad Hussain Lathi was presented before the court.

Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui remarked, “A lot of secret material is available in the judicial enquiry report. Therefore, the court sends this judicial enquiry report to Islamabad IG and Islamabad chief commissioner.”

The counsel for the petitioner prayed the court to set aside the suspension from service notice in respect of the police officers.

The court while dismissing the plea of the counsel for the petitioner remarked, “Study the judicial enquiry report first of all and then the court will decide the case.”

The court adjourned the hearing of the case after Eidul Fitr holidays.
