Balochistan National Party (BNP) President Senator Mir Hasil Bizenjo says the decision to appoint Arsalan Iftikhar as Balochistan Board of Investment (BBI) vice chairman was made by Balochistan Chief Minister Abdul Malik Baloch on the desire of former chief justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry.
In an interview, Bizenjo said that the Balochistan CM had “no idea that the appointment of Justice(r) Iftikhar’s son as BBoI vice chairman will create such a big controversy”.
He said that the former CJP had directly conveyed his desire to the Balochistan CM to appoint Arsalan, adding that Arsalan’s appointment as BBoI vice chairman was illegal.
Bizenjo said that he advised the Balochistan CM to remove Arsalan from the post to clear the name of the BNP, which was being criticised over the controversial appointment.
