Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA) Tuesday warned that 260 buildings in Karachi may collapse anytime and their residents should vacate them before monsoon rains.

Every year, before the rainy season the SBCA issues such warnings; however, no action is ever taken by the SBCAS or any other agency of the provincial or city government to get these death traps really vacated.

The SBCA release said that their technical committee has already termed these 260 buildings dangerous due to their precarious basic structure. These buildings are likely to collapse in heavy rains and their residents should immediately vacate them in their own interest. It also requested citizens not to go near these buildings, especially during rainy season.

The SBCA said due to the impeding monsoon they have declared emergency in the department, and their staff along with machinery would be present on duty in three shifts. The citizens are requested to contact on 021-99232354 in case of any emergency.
