An election tribunal on Monday terminated the Punjab Assembly membership of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) MPA Muhammad Yaqoob Nadeem Sethi of PP-175.
The decision was taken by the election tribunal over rigging allegations levelled against the MPA. The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has issued a notification in this regard after the tribunal’s decision.
The ECP also restored the membership of another Punjab Assembly member, PML-N’s Tariq Mehmood Bajwa, of PP-170. Bajwa, who has a bachelor’s degree from Bahauddin Zakariya University Multan, had been accused of having a fake degree.
Bajwa’s membership was restored after the Supreme Court issued a decision in his favour.
