Summer Book Club continued to attract parents, teachers and all age group children as they were taking keen interest in stories telling, book reading, drawing, painting, interesting educational and entertaining activities during summer vacations.
The club initiated by the National Book Foundation (NBF) in its building from 10am to 12:30pm daily is a comprehensive plan aimed at providing ample book reading opportunities to the school children of the federal capital.
The NBF is playing a vital role in promoting habit of book reading among the people particularly youth and the students for the last many years.
Every year, during the summer vacations in the educational institutions in the federal capital, NBF arranges multiple interesting activities for the school children of the age group of five years to 14 years.
NBF Managing Director Prof Dr Inamul Haq Javed is taking special interest in holding this Summer Book Club for children of government and private educational institutions, said an NBF spokesman Saturday. He said for the accomplishment of this important task for the children particularly, Summer Book Club carried out different entertaining and educational activities providing the children the best opportunities of grooming their personality.
The Children Summer Hall of NBF has been decorated with modern touch of different colourful banners along with placing the interesting story books of children such as Iqbal Series, Sun Series, Afaq Encyclopaedia, books on English Language, Mathematics, General Science subjects, creative arts, general knowledge and much more variety of books on other topics as well.
The children, parents and teachers are visiting in large number to meet the NBF Book Ambassadors who are telling them how they become a successful person and honourable citizen.
In the Summer Book Club, the children are being provided with the best opportunities of drawing, painting and other fine arts activities according to their interest.
In this year, the slogan of Summer Book Club is ‘Enjoy Reading’ with the prime purpose to keep in touch the new generation with books and creating their close relations and interaction with books.
The activities of this event are helping them to become great and prominent personalities in future.
