The marketing companies on Sunday increased the price of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) by Rs 10 per kg with immediate effect.

All Pakistan LPG Distributors Association Chairman Irfan Khokar said the increase in prices was unjustified as the government producers such as Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) PSO and PARCO did not increase the price of LPG. Similarly the price of domestic cylinder has been increased by Rs 120 and commercial cylinder Rs 450.

He said the new price of LPG in Karachi was Rs 100 per kg with domestic cylinder at Rs 1150. He said the LPG will be sold in Lahore, Gujranwala, Gujraat, Faislabad, Sialkot, Hydrabad and Sheikhopura at Rs 110 per kg with domestic cylinder at Rs 1270.

He added that LPG price will stand in Mirpur, Multan, Bhawalpur, DG Khan, Peshawar, Kohat and Bannu at Rs 115 per kg and domestic cylinder Rs 1330. He said in Rawalpindi and Islamabad the LPG will be sold at 130 per kg with domestic cylinder at Rs 1510. He said that new price of LPG in Muree Muzafrabad and FATA is Rs 140 per kg and domestic cylinder is Rs 1630.

The association has convened a meeting on July 9 to discuss issues in order to prevent LPG black marketing.
