The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) director general (DG) has tendered apology to Islamabad High Court (IHC) for using court’s name in a letter to Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) by an FIA director.

A single bench of IHC led by Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui took up Dr Zahirud Din Babar versus federation case for hearing Thursday.

FIA DG Ghalib Ali Bandesha and Deputy Director (DD) Law Qaisar Mehmood appeared in the court.

Justice Siddiqui inquired from FIA DG as to how an FIA director could seek record from OGDCL by using name of IHC.

The FIA DG, while tendering the apology, said that mistake has been committed by FIA director and FIA requested the court to forgive this mistake.

“A letter was written by FIA director asking OGDCL to produce record and he used the name of IHC in this letter. I offer apology on it and no such steps will take place in future.”

The court while accepting the apology offered by FIA DG adjourned the hearing of the case.
