Information Minister Pervaiz Rashid lashed out at the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Wednesday, accusing it of failing to deliver and controlling corruption in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
In an interview, he said the PTI could not control corruption in KP, where cases could not be lodged against provincial ministers who were sacked on charges of corruption.
Rashid also said that the verification of voters’ thumb impressions as demanded by PTI chief Imran Khan was not possible due to the substandard ink used during the elections. He added that the polls were supervised by the caretaker government and that the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) should not be blamed.
The minister further said if anyone has any reservations regarding the elections being rigged, they should approach election tribunals and courts.
He said Imran and Pakistan Awami Tehreek leader (PAT) Tahirul Qadri were holding rallies on non-issues, adding that the PAT has no representation in parliament nor does it believe in the constitution and democracy.
