Embassy of Saudi Arabia rejected the media reports of a surge in umrah visa fee and said that Saudi embassies all over the world issue visas of Haj and umrah free of cost.
The Saudi Embassy in Pakistan issued a press release, stating that contrary to media reports of a surge in umrah visas’ fee, Saudi embassies in the whole world issue Haj and umrah visas free of cost.
The visa fee for Hajj and Umrah is indeed free, but the Ministry of Hajj of Saudi Arabia charges a certain amount as "visa approval free". This approval fee for umrah 2014 in the month of Ramadan is Rs. 68000/=
