The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) issued a notification on Tuesday, increasing the price of compressed natural gas (CNG).

According to the new prices, CNG would be sold for Rs76.35 per kilogramme in Region 1 (Potohar, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan) with an increase of Rs2.1 from Rs74.25.

The per kilogramme price of CNG in Region 2 (Sindh, Punjab and its areas, excluding Potohar) was increased by Rs5.36, from Rs66.14 to Rs71.5.

The increase in price was approved by OGRA on the pretext of gas infrastructure development and other recommendations for price hikes, submitted by CNG Filling Station Owners Association and others, were rejected.
