Military forces discovered a large IED-making plant in Miranshah area of North Waziristan during the ground offensive phase of Operation Zarb-e-Azb , a private news channel reported.
According to details, Director General Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) Major General Asim Bajwa briefed a delegation of foreign journalists. The briefing was also attended by Federal Information Minister Pervez Rasheed, Federal Minister States and Frontier Regions (Safron).
Bajwa told the delegation that troops recovered 225 cylinders of explosive materials, each weighing 80 to 100 kilograms from the IED-making plant along with a large quantity of IED-materials and a physical training facility.
Training literature and 10 anti-tank mines were also found, he added.
The DG ISPR dismissed any links of the ongoing operation with the US drone strikes.
Also on Tuesday, two troops were martyred another injured in gun attack in Mirali tehsil of NWA.
A vehicle carrying security personnel from Khajuri checkpost to Miranshah came under attack by militants at a bypass.
Two soldiers were martyred while another was critically wounded in the event.
The attackers managed to flee.
Until now, 300 militants have been killed in the military operation Zarb-e-Azb initiated by the Pakistan Armed Forces to wipe out local and foreign militants in NWA on June 15.
