- IHC upholds its stay order against pre-mature retirement of OGDCL employee

Islamabad High Court (IHC) has upheld its stay order against premature retirement of an employee of OGDCL and directed the department not to retire him from service till the decision of the case.
A single bench of IHC led by Justice Noorul Haq N Qureshi took up Zummri verses OGDCL managing director case for hearing Monday.
The counsel for the petitioner told the court Zummri is an employee of OGDCL and the department has issued his premature retirement orders being his date of birth recorded incorrect. He pleaded that his client had filed petition in the IHC and the court had issued orders that OGDCL should arrange his medical check up and ensure that his correct date of birth is recorded.
The counsel for petitioner told the court that medical check up of his client had taken place and as per this medical check up his age had proved less than what is mentioned in the record of OGDCL. He told the court that the department has neither provided medical check up report to the petitioner nor has it presented the report in the court. On the other hand the department has issued his premature retirement orders.
The court while upholding its stay orders against premature retirement directed the department to record correct date of birth of the petitioner and not send him home on premature retirement till the decision of case.
The court adjourned the hearing of the case.
