Pakistani and Italian entrepreneurs got together to bid farewell to Dr Federico Bianchi, for vibrant role played for the promotion of Italy-Pakistan cooperation and collaborations in the fields of economy, commerce, culture and investment.

Dr Bianchi performed as head of economic and commercial section of the Italian Embassy.

The reception was held to award medal of excellence to then outgoing couple by Italy Pakistan Business Forum and Gold Roof Islamabad, the prime agencies for promotion of business ties between the two friendly states.

Lars-Gunnar Wigemark, the ambassador and head of delegation of the European Union to Pakistan, was the guest of honour. The ambassador awarded the mementos to Federico Bianchi and Mrs Lavinia Bianchi. IPBF has awarded the medal of excellence to Dr Federico Bianchi in recognition of his services.

Speaking at the occasion, IPBF Secretary General Khurram Shahzad Hameed said that Dr Bianchi has played a vibrant role in facilitating Pakistani traders and business community to access the Italian Market and vice versa, his role in building institutions to promote trade, commerce and investment between both countries will be remembers always and has laid a strong foundation to assist business community.

Speaking at the occasion, Raja Nazeemul Amin underscored his efforts at diplomatic level, he also applauded the role of Italian government in the EU to grant Pakistan with the GSP Plus status that has reduced duties and tariffs and has positivist impacted the textile and leather sector.

He also mentioned the recent projects in the fields on construction industry aiming at the promotion of Italian experiences to develop energy efficient housing. At this occasion Dr Federico Bianchi said that he and his family liked Pakistan and had spent great time for last couple of years.

“It is true, it has several complex challenges to face and Italy will stand next to Pakistan to help it weather these difficult times. Bilateral Trade and investment relations between the both countries are growing. Italy has always followed with keen interest the Pakistani market and in the past decades has increased its’ positioning, becoming one of the top ten global trading partners of Pakistan and the third among EU member states, after the UK and Germany. Italy is considered to be a most privileged and reliable partner with regard to its economic and trade relations with Pakistan,” he added.

Ambassador Rizvi underscored the services of Dr Bianchi while Senator Sughra Imam mentioned his key contributions in strengthening Italian Pakistan commercial relations. The reception was well attended by people from different walks of life includes Malik Atta, Agha Ali Abbas, Amna Malik, Muneeba Khurram, Masud Akhtar, Dr Malik, Dr.Zian ul Abedin, Hala, Muhammad Shoban, Omar Durrani and others.
