10 including four dacoits arrested

Islamabad Police have arrested 10 criminals including four members of a dacoit gang and recovered weapons as well as stolen property from their possession, a police spokesman said on Monday.

On a tip off, ASIs Niaz Muhammad and Ghulam Abbas from Golra Police raided at the hideout of dacoits and arrested four persons from there identified as Adnan, Wajid Ali, Adnan Hussain and Kamra Hussain. Police team recovered pistol along with ammunition and one dagger from their possession.

Kohsar Police arrested drug peddler Shahzad Sharif while Sihala Police arrested a thief Riaz Masih. Cases have been registered against these nabbed persons and further investigation is underway.

Meanwhile, Islamabad Police arrested four proclaimed offenders during special crackdown against absconders. During general hold up in last 24 hours, six vehicles and 72 bikes were impounded during checking which were being driven without authentic documents.

Police team also apprehended six suspects from various area of the city during search operation while six professional alms-seekers were also held.

Islamabad SSP Muhammad Ali Nekokara has appreciated overall performance and directed all police officials to intensify vigilance in their respective area and curb activities of anti-social elements.

ANF NABS 11 DRUG TRAFFICKERS:

Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) has arrested 11 drug pushers and seized a huge cache of illicit drugs in raids in various parts of the country.

A total of 38 kilogrammes of hashish, one kilogram heroin and 45 kilogramme of opium were recovered from Rawalpindi, Jhelum, Lahore, Peshawar and Quetta.

The force also arrested passengers at Islamabad and Peshawar airports with ingested capsules filled with heroin.
