Provincial Health Department centre has directed health establishments to implement modern concepts of safe hospital waste management practices.
Provincial Health Development Center Director Dr Sohail Saqlain said Sunday that PHDC was committed to providing quality training according to needs of the health department to health managers at their workplaces.
Dr Saqlain said a viable strategy had been evolved to introduce various new techniques or combination of different methods of training to raise awareness among health managers across the province. He said that safe hospital waste management practices were complex and intricate which badly needed a detailed and comprehensive understanding as well as professional approach not only to ensure efficient and safe disposal of hospital waste but also train hospital managers as master trainers so that they could create a compressive hospital waste management programme at their respective hospitals.
Dr Saqlain said PHDC had held workshops and would conduct workshops on safe hospital waste management practices.
