- NA secretary fails to get extension for fourth time, retiring on Monday

National Assembly Secretary Karamat Hussain Niazi could not get extension in the service for the fourth time and will be retiring on Monday.
According to the National Assembly Secretariat sources, the NA speaker has decided in principle to appoint new NA secretary and Karamat Hussain Niazi has also been informed about the decision. Muhammad Riaz, a Grade-21 officer from Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), who is currently working as additional secretary admin of the National Assembly will be promoted to the post.
The sources said that a notification to this effect will be issued on Monday.
It is pertinent to mention that Niazi has been performing the duties on the post since era of former National Assembly speaker Chaudhry Ameer Hussain.
