More power to Rangers in Islamabad under Anti-Terrorism Act

ISLAMABAD-

The Government of Pakistan has given police powers to Rangers in Islamabad.

According to details, Rangers were given police powers in the federal capital under the Anti-Terrorism Act.

Rangers personnel will now be able to search out homes under the Anti-Terrorism Act, without warrant.

The Interior Ministry has also directed concerned authorities to put the security on high-alert all over the country.
The Federal Government, while directing local authorities to ensure the security of sensitive places,has sought suggestions from provinces in this regard.

It was further reported that after the finalization of recommendations by provinces, military will also be assisting civil administration for the maintenance of security of sensitive installments.
