President Mamnoon Hussain Thursday said that despite enormity of the grim challenges, the nation and its armed forces have stood together and made invaluable sacrifices for the country to overcome them.

While speaking at the Convocation ceremony of National Defence University Wednesday, Hussain said notwithstanding the challenges that we confront today, nature has endowed Pakistan with tremendous potential and resilience that all obstacles, no matter how daunting and insurmountable they may appear, cannot match the national will and determination.

“Pakistan with the resolve of its leadership, correct national priorities, a unified and holistic national agenda will recover the lost ground,” he asserted.

He said Pakistan stands at a historical juncture, where a democratically elected government is making all out endeavours to trigger the process of reform and recovery; economic revival and internal security stabilization being the key. The people of Pakistan wish to collectively realize the Pakistani dream of peace and prosperity, he said.

The president praised the NDU which is playing a very important role and urged it to continue to prepare the future leadership for skilfully handling existing and emerging challenges. He congratulated the graduating course members and their families on this auspicious occasion and commended them for their persistent endeavours, resolve and dedication, which they have remarkably displayed throughout their studies to see this day.
